WHAT IT DOES

What is in the release

01

Capture and recall in the plugin

Routine journaling and recall happen before the model answers. They do not depend on the model remembering to call a memory tool or follow a special system prompt.

02

Recall within a budget

Stored records are ranked and selected information is fitted into a configurable context budget. Older turns remain in searchable archive chunks.

03

Choose your recall style

Balanced mode uses relevance and continuity signals. Manual mode recalls on request. Eager mode recalls more often within the configured cooldown.

04

Separate workspaces

Keep projects or stories in their own folders. Memory is stored in local, human-readable files that you can inspect and back up.

GETTING STARTED

Set up memory in LM Studio

Download and extract the paid release from Patreon. You need LM Studio, its lms command-line tool, and Node.js with npm. From the extracted plugin folder, run:

npm ci
npm run verify
lms dev --install

Enable local/lit-memory-keeper in the chat’s Integrations panel. Choose an absolute memory workspace, such as C:/LLMMemory/MyProject, and start with Balanced mode. The ZIP includes a Windows Install.cmd helper and a step-by-step guide.

A FEW PRACTICAL DETAILS

Common questions

Can I control recall myself?

Yes. Choose Manual mode and use @memory when you want a context refresh. @sync captures visible history, repairs archive metadata, and performs a broad recall.

Where are my conversations stored?

In the local workspace you choose for the chat. Back up the entire workspace, including its hidden journal folder. Your own conversations and memory files remain yours.

Does it work as a standalone MCP server?

Memory Keeper is an LM Studio plugin. LIT Power Tools is the separate MCP server for web access, commands, and file operations.

Where can I buy it?

Paid releases, installation guides, and development updates are available through the Lunder IT Patreon. The included commercial license allows licensed personal or internal business use.
